New toy. Want to play.

From the PR clip:
Sony Corporation today announced the development of a single lens 3D camera technology capable of recording natural and smooth 3D images of even fast-moving subject matter such as sports, at 240fps (frames per second). This technology combines a newly developed optical system for single lens 3D camera which captures the left and right images simultaneously, together with existing high frame rate (HFR) recording technology to realize 240fps 3D filming.

Somebody Once Told Me

A photography blog of people holding up signs of sayings that have stuck with them. Funny, pithy and banal.

MGD work for Y&R.

After one of the hardest shoots I have ever done, lots of little tweaks in post -- the spots are FINALLY airing.

I am really proud of the work and think they turned out really well.

Some behind the scenes on the two spots.

Poor Man's Case Study.

Fresh - Eric at the Keg Cap

Fresh - Ice Tests. Most of the ice in the spot is CG.

Shot 103 Breakdown

Fresh - Resin on the Glass. We smashed real glasses with "ice" on them.

Fresh - Smashing the Glass. Nothing beats the real thing. Special foam designed not to slosh.

One Same - Schematic of yard and beta of camera move (changed for final production)

One Same - Setting up the ginormous moco rig

One Same - Blocking with Moco move. Yep, that is the crew in the backyard serving as meatprops.
Moco Blocking Move

One Same - Same move, but our hero Pool take (the real environment was shot first, prior to the stage of the bar)
Pool Take

One Same - The raw video tap of the two takes, straight from the camera, ganged up... Lots of wee tweaks but as you can tell, matched pretty well.
